This dialog is available from the View menu in the main window and
allows you to set up preferences for CDBF.
- Start mode
CDBF can work in two modes: Browse ( in the form of a table ) and
Fields ( in the form of a single record ).
When you open a database, CDBF shows it according to your choice.
- Date format
Specifies the format for Date and DateTime fields displayed in the
program.
- Date delimiter
Specifies the delimiter for Date and DateTime fields displayed in the
program. It's possible to choose system delimiter or define it
yourself.
- Alignment
Allows you to align the data in character fields after editing.
- Codepage
If the header of a database does not contain the explanation of the
codepage,
then CDBF can try to detect the codepage automatically or it can be
defined manually.
- Memo-fields
CDBF can show state or content of the memo-field.
- Parameters
You can customise a font, colors, and height of rows of the main
window of CDBF.
- International
This section allows you to use another Help-file or another interface
language.
- Associate DBF file type with
CDBF
This means that when you double click on a file of such type in
Explorer, it will be opened in CDBF.
- Progress-bar
CDBF can show a progress bar during some long operations, such as
"Sort", "Filter", "Sum" etc.
- Read-only mode at
startup
CDBF can work as a viewer only. Check this option if you are afraid
of damaging your data accidentally.

CDBF can show records in reverse order. It can be helpful in some
situations, such as when you accumulate data in the database.
- Auto save setup
If checked, CDBF will save settings of columns of databases
automatically.
- Aliases mode at startup and file open
If checked, CDBF uses aliases for new files.
- Save setting
CDBF will save settings of columns in:
- a separate file in the home directory (CDBFW.HST).
- a separate file in each directory where you view or edit
databases (CDBFW.HST).
- a file with the same name and .HST extension.
- Escape
CDBF can handle the ESC key in various ways.
- Does nothing.
- Closes CDBF. This feature is useful when you use CDBF as
a file viewer with any file manager like WinCommander.
- Minimizes CDBF. By pressing one key you can hide CDBF
from the screen, but leave it in memory for further work.
- These switches allow you to switch off confirmation messages in the program.
Be careful. You can easily lose all your data.
- Do not remember current record when you filter or sort a database
By default CDBF keeps current record.
- Disable sounds effects
Do not use Windows sounds in message boxes.
- Maximize first child window
Old behavior emulation.
- Transparency of 'Properties' window
Use this option to set the 'Properties' window transparency level.
This option is available under Windows 2000 and Windows XP only.
At 10% the window will be almost opaque. And at 90% it will be hardly visible.

Let Windows choose a directory in Open/Save dialogs.
- Remember last directory
CDBF will use a directory that has been used last time.
